Golden Chariot Coaches and Saloons
The Golden Chariot coaches are sure a reminiscent of the ancient dynasties of Karnataka. The 18 coaches of this train comprise of the following:- 11 passenger coaches, one lounge bar, 2 restaurant coaches, one coach for the gym and spa and another coach for the staff.The passenger coaches got their names from the empires and dynasties of Karnataka namely the Ganga, Hoysala, Kadamba, Rashtrakuta, Chalukya, Bahamani, Adilshahi, Sangama, Vijayanagara Shathavahana and Yadukula.
The coaches interiors have been decorated with roofs and furniture which draw inspiration from the Hoysala as well as the Mysore architecture. The interiors are carpeted floors, wall panels and furniture and also intricate carvings upon the ceilings.The spacious cabins include the following 17 double beds, 26 twin beds and also a single cabin, especially designed for the physically challenged. Each cabin consists of twin beds / double beds together with cupboards for luggage storage, a side table, a carved writing desk, and bedspreads along with upholstery in rich silks!
The facilities onboard the train also include an attached bathroom provided with toiletries, LCD television, Wi-Fi, DVD that has 6 satellite channels as well as an elaborate wardrobe!
